If you’ve recently been arrested for a crime, it is time for you to prioritize yourself and your future. If this is your first ever arrest, it’s important that you are aware of the potential outcomes of a criminal conviction.

Depending on what you’ve been accused of and the circumstances surrounding the charge, you could be dealing with some serious repercussions. In these instances, it’s important to entrust the knowledge and experience of a defense attorney. Pumphrey Law Firm proudly represents individuals in Liberty County who have been accused of the following offenses:

  • Florida DUI – If you are accused of driving under the influence (DUI), there is a lengthy list of consequences that you could face, including the loss of driving privileges, placement of an IID, or having your vehicle impounded. Contact an attorney for charges relating to DUI with Serious Injury and DUI Manslaughter.
  • Drug Offenses – If you are facing drug charges, work with an attorney who understands the techniques used by the prosecution and possible weaknesses that can help your cause. Drug offenses include illegal possession of prescription drugs, possession of a controlled substance, or drug trafficking. While other states may take a more lenient approach towards marijuana-related arrests and other crimes, Florida certainly does not.
  • Domestic Violence Charges – Violent acts committed against family or household members can face further repercussions if it is classified as domestic violence. A conviction can result in an injunction for protective for the alleged victim.
  • Weapons Charges – Unlawfully possessing or displaying items that are considered weapons, deadly weapons, or firearms can result in criminal charges and penalties. It is important to review Florida’s most up to date laws, as it has recently allowed for lawful concealed carry, which can complicate certain weapons cases.
  • White-Collar Crimes – Crimes such as fraud, scheme to defraud, and identity theft are all considered white-collar crimes due to their lack of violent nature and the use of deception for financial gain. A defense attorney can help fight against a white-collar crime conviction.
  • Sexual Offenses – Any allegations of a sex crime should be taken extremely seriously. Convictions of sex crimes often result in additional consequences, such as registering as a sex offender in cases involving minors or children. Sex offenses include sexual battery, lewd or lascivious activity, or possessing child pornography.
  • Theft Crimes – Individuals accused of stealing, whether it be accusations of petit theft, shoplifting, or grand theft, should consult a defense attorney to represent their case. Theft crimes can involve paying back restitution and other additional penalties.
  • Crimes of Violence – Causing physical harm to another person can result in accusations of violent criminal offenses. In certain cases, even just the threat of violence is enough to secure a conviction. Contact a Liberty County defense attorney if you’ve been accused of assault, battery, or any other offense that resulted in physical injury or death to another person.
  • Juvenile Delinquency – A minor who has been accused of breaking the law will have to go through the juvenile justice system. This process differs from standard adult crimes, and therefore should be represented by a defense attorney who is well-versed in representing minors facing criminal allegations.
  • Violation of Probation (VOP) – Breaking the terms of a person’s probation can result in harsh penalties. A Liberty County defense attorney can determine if the terms of probation were violated and if so, how to receive the best possible outcome.
